Travel Thursdays - Jet Lag Catches Up {Chronic Illness Blog}

Kyros accompanied his husband on a work trip to England, Sweden, Switzerland, and India over the course of two weeks. He and Monica thought it would be a good opportunity to blog about traveling with an Invisible Illness. For those of you who don’t already know, Kyros particular Invisible Illnesses are peripheral neuropathy in both feet, a torn meniscus in my left knee that has refused to heal correctly, and somewhere in-between severe lactose-intolerance and a medium dairy allergy. So this is his story...

Day 10 - 1/30/18 - Pune

Today was all about resting. Between switching hotels every night, long flights, long car rides, and jet lag, I was exhausted. So I didn’t even try to leave the hotel today.

That doesn't mean I didn't get some exercise though. After breakfast, I worked on this blog and some other writing I wanted to finish in our room, then went down to the pool. I swam for a couple hours, alternating between just goofing off and swimming laps. It felt really good to exercise without hurting either my feet or my knee. It's times like this that I remember why I would love to have a pool or even consistent access to one. Swimming is great exercise and It’s zero impact on my feet and knee.

On the way back to my room from the pool, I had to walk past the hotel spa. Since today will probably be my only rest day before we head home, I decided to stop and get a foot massage so I'm in the best condition possible to explore the Hindu temples tomorrow. I could tell just how worn out I was because I fell asleep during the massage. Normally my feet hurt so badly that the pain keeps me awake. Not this time!

The rest of my day was spent working at my other (fiction) writing job and then spending time with my husband. All in all, I feel like today was a productive, yet restful day. Tomorrow I hope to start exploring the Hindu temples in the area.
